Hefazot-e-Islam, Bangladesh : An Introduction by Hefazot Leaders

In the name of most merciful Allah who is the God of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), Prophet Issa (Jesus)(Peace be upon him) and all other prophets.

“HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM, BANGLADESH” is completely a Non-Political, Religious and Spiritual organization. The journey of this sacred organization which consists of students, teachers and followers of the Qaumi principles starts with the motive to guide the national and international Islamic world in a righteous and effective manner. The chief of this organization Allama Ahmad Shafi is an innocent, non-political, religious and a spiritual personality.

It has been 55 years ago from now, in 1957, Allama Ahmad Shafi had finished his highest degree in religion from “Darul Uloom, Deoband, India”. Then, he joined as a teacher in the oldest Madrasa of Bengal, “Darul Uloom Moinul Islam”, Hathazari which was established in 1901. Before going to the Deoband, India, he studied in the Hathazari Madrasa for 10 years. In his 15 years of study, he was very genius,  hard-working and modest student. Because of these reasons, he became the beloved student among the teachers of these two famous institutions.

When he was studying at Darul Uloom Deoband, India, Allama HOSSAIN AHMAD MADANI, the Chief Leader of Indian Freedom Movement was Head of Hadith [The Sayings of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him)] department of “Daurl Uloom, Deoband”, India- the largest Islamic University in Asia. Two Indian Freedom Movement leaders, M.K. Ghandi and J.L. Neheru were his close friends. Allama MADANI formed the “Jamiate Olama-e Hind” with his teacher “MAHMUDUL HASSAN DEOBANDI”. Then, this Organization in collaboration with M.K. Ghandi and J.L. Neheru played a historical role for the freedom movement of India. Because of this reason, the CONGRESS PARTY in INDIA is in power for two-third times in the last 60 years by the support of millions of Muslim voters in India, those who are the followers of “Jamiate Olama-e Hind”.

To understand about the unbeatable spiritual power of HEFAZOT-E-ISLAM and his leader Allama Ahmad Shafi, we must understand the source of the oldest and largest Madrasa in Hathazari, Bangladesh and above 50 thousands Madrasas of India and above 60 thousand Madrasa of Bangladesh and Pakistan and around 10 thousands Madrasas of USA, EUROPE, AUSTRALIA & SOUTH AFRICA – in Total approximately 150 thousands of non-Government Deobandi Quami Madrasas around the world. Besides this fact, we have to understand the source of the founder of Deoband Madrasa – Moulana Qasim Nanutovi. After the Indian revolution in 1857 for 10 years, Maulana Qasim Nanutovi  established these Madrasas with his many colleagues those who were spiritually enlighted and empowered in Deoband district Sharanpur of Uttar Pradesh, India. Maulana Nanutovi and founder of Ali-Ghar Islamic University, Sir. Sayed Ahmed Khan were student of the same teacher, Maulana Mamluk Ali.

After the completion of all kinds of Islamic knowledge, Maulana Nanutovi became a efficient debater. The Hindu pandits and Christian scholars were not been able to withstand in front of the logics and magnificent orating capability of Maulana Nanutovi. His counterpart of various religion were defeated in various occasions. The scope of knowledge, skill and logic spread in Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and Muslim community of that time.

Because of the Anti-British movement, the British Government announced the arrest of Maulana Nanutovi for several times. But, the Government were never been able to arrest him. But, he never hid himself more than three days. Once an incident took place which is as following:

Once, he went to his father-in-laws home in the request of his friends and relatives. He stayed there for three days. After this time, when he came out, he fell in front of the people of Intelligence agency. He asked the people: “What do you want?”. They said: “We have come to search Maulana Qasim Nanutovi”. Maulana Nanutovi said: “Please come, come to home”. He then adored all of them as guests.  After that, he asked the people of Intelligence: “Where do you want to search Maulana Qasim Nanutovi?” They said that they would like to search in the rooms of women. Maulana Qasim Nanutovi took them to the rooms for searching.

This is Maulana Qasim Nanutovi who showed them the rooms, but people of intelligence were not been able to recognize him.

Was Maulana Qasim Nanutovi a magician? NO, NEVER. Then, what is the power that he had for what the intelligence were not able to recognize him. He had the power of Spirit.

Another incident regarding Maulana Qasim Nanutovi took during the battle named “Shamoli”  between British arm force and Indian patriots. In this battle, Maulana Qasim was shot in his head by the British force. He fell down. All of his fellows went running to him and found his clothes were full of bloods. But, his fellows did not find any sign of blood and bullet in his head. When he was asked regarding the matter, he said: “I recited Bismillah and wiped spit in the place of wound, then miraculously the wound got fully cured”.

The incidents of Maulana Qasim Nanutovi are not fantasy, but these are the expressions of the spiritual power that he had.  He is the founder of “Daurl Uloom, Deoband”, India.

(a)    His established “Daurl Uloom, Deoband”, India which is the source of approximately 150 thousands Qaumi Madrasas and 10 millions of students throughout the world.

(b)   One Ex-student student of his established “Daurl Uloom, Deoband”, India is Maulana Md. Iliyas who is the founder of “Tabligh Jamat”- the largest missionary organization for preaching Islam. Under this Organization, more the 700 million Muslims are involved in preaching activities in rural and urban areas of the world. A massive numbers of Christians brothers and sisters are becoming Muslims under the “Tabligh Jamat”.

So far, you have heard about the miracle incidents of the spiritual power of Maulana Qasim Nanutovi. Now, we would like introduce you with “Shaikul Hind” , Maulana Mahmood Hassan Deobandi who is the first student of Deoband Madrasa.  The student of Mahmood Hassan Deobandi is “Shaikul Islam”, Maulana Hossain Ahmad Madani. And, the student of Maulana Hossain Ahmad Madani is the Chief of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM”, Bangladesh, Allama Ahmad Shafi. He received the knowledge of Academic and Spiritual enrichment from his teacher.

We already previously mentioned that the birth and inauguration of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM”, Bangladesh is completely non-political. Hefazat-e-Islam arranged many massive national and international Islamic conference where millions of people gathered in Chittagong as well as all over Bangladesh. During the conference for speaking the truth and beauty of Islam, the Police force of this unethical and anti-Islamic Government shot bullets in the car of Allama Ahmad Shafi which created a severe impact in the Muslim world of home and abroad. This is how Allama Ahmad Shafi has become a renowned international figure all over the world.

After this, the biggest shameful and evil incident in the 1,500 years history of Islam

took place in a place named Shahbagh (Beside BIRDEM, P.G. Hospitals & B.S.M.M.U), in the heart of Capital city of Bangladesh, Dhaka. We know that the biggest powerful country, United States of America has a national religion which is Christianity. It is written in the powerful currency dollar : “IN GOD, WE TRUST”. The Muslims all over the world know that the President of top power in the world, America takes the oath keeping his hand over the holy Bible. Again, most of the countries in European Union have Christian based national infrastructure. Another highly developed country, Australia believe in Christianity as national religion. So, we Muslims and Christians of America, Europe and Australia – all together a population of more the 2500 millions believe in Allah/God/Creator. We, more than 1000 millions of Muslims believe Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him) as the greatest and last prophet in the chain of prophet hood. You believe Prophet Issa/Jesus (Peace Be upon Him) as prophet. We, Muslims believe the Holy Qu’ran as divine book, where as You, Christians believe the Holy Bible as divine book.

A Muslim, after believing Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him),  can not be a Muslim anymore if he/she doesn’t believe Prophet Issa/Jesus (Peace Be upon Him) as prophet. In this respect, God, Prophet and the revealed divine books, we are all staying in the same center. The way the Atheist Bloggers of Shahbagh criticized Allah, his messenger Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) and sacred Islam religion, if they have criticized one part of a thousand parts with the Prophet and religion of America, Europe, Australia and even the Hindu population of Indian Sub-continent then would any of the Christian and Hindu community tolerate such a massive insult and misbehave with religion?

The chief of Hefazat-e-Islam, Allama Ahmad Shafi asked several times the Government to stop the criticizings, insult, evil comments regarding  Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him), Islam by these evil, atheist Bloggers of Shahbagh. But, the Government did not listen to this and did not take any steps to stop it. At last, Hefazat-e-Islam compelled to announce to activities to stop the Atheist Bloggers of Shahbagh. And, thousands of top level Scholars, Leaders agreed to announce a historical LONG-MARCH to capital Dhaka on 6^th of April, 2013. You, including the national and international media have already known that even after striking and blocking the Roadways, Railways, Waterways and  Airways how millions of leaders and activists of “Hefazat-e-Islam” did the peaceful demonstration at “SHAPLA CHATTAR”  by walking hundreds of miles and came back peacefully after the demonstration. After that, many Gatherings and Conference took place regarding the insult, evil comments regarding  Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him), Islam and demanded the punishment of the atheist Bloggers. The Government did not listen to any these demand. After that, the “5^th May,2013 Dhaka Blockade” activity arose. The national and international media throughout the whole world have observed how the Peaceful Demonstration was proceeding at the Six gates of Entry to Dhaka.

You must have heard that the Chief of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM”, Allama Ahmad Shafi decided to unite all the leaders and followers of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” and to give the finishing speech at “SHAPLA CHATTAR”after the peaceful demonstration with the permission of Government. Then the General Secretary of Awami League, L.G.R.D minister Syed Ashraf asked the activists of his party in a deceiving way to stop the peaceful demonstration and gathering. As a result, centering the the Awami League office at the South gate of Baitul Mukarram mosque, the armed cadres and miscreants of Awami League, Chatra League and Jubo League in association with Police force jumped over the leaders and followers of  “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” ruthlessly and started killing the innocent the Schloars, Leaders and activist of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM”. Even after asking the Government for a proper investigation regarding the burning of Islamic books at the South gate of Baitul Mukarram through the video footage and identifying the miscreant  several times, the Government did not listen to it. The Government inversely   blamed “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” for the activities which is absolutely absurd. The people who have spent their whole life for learning, practicing and preaching Islam, they would never be able to burn the Islamic books. Every citizen of Bangladesh understands    this fact.

After that, a historical Mass murder or Genocide took place at 2:30 a.m. on the night of the passing day, 5^th May, 2013. From record, One hundred fifty thousands bullets and  all types of heavy weapons which are used in the war field were used for attacking the sleeping Leaders and activist of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM”. All these operation were executed by removing the people of Media and switching off the electricity lines around “SHAPLA CHATTAR”. The number of people of  “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” died at that night is huge and uncountable. We asked the Government for a proper and neutral Justice & Investigation body for the mass killing several times. The Government has again stepped in the inverse direction and blaming the Leaders and Activists of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” with false allegations and cases and pursuing a false propaganda in nation and abroad.

Dear Friends!,

The leaders and activist of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” at “SHAPLA CHATTAR” were not armed with any types of weapon. Their weapon was the spirit and remembrance of Allah at that night. Today, the Government is wrongly blaming and trying to create a portrait  of  “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” as a Terrorist Organization. The Government is doing such activities keeping in mind to be politically benefited in the 10^th National Election.

In all the areas of Bangladesh, the leaders and activist of “HEFAZAT-E-ISLAM” are very innocent and peace-loving. We firmly wish and expect that for these unethical activities of the Government, when 90% of the population of Bangladesh are angry on the Awami League Government, then You and all other foreign aid bodies would not be badly influence with their false broadcasting.

At present, in the unpeaceful world, the time has come for the MUSLIM UMMAH and CHRISTIAN WORLD to work together. In the holy book of Islam, the Qur’an , there are several verses and chapter praising the Prophet Jesus (PBUH) and his clean image mother Marry. We, Muslims believe the re-arrival of  Prophet Jesus (PBUH) with the light of the Qur’an. In the Chapter Al-Imran of the holy book Qur’an, Allah has taken the promise from all the prophets to obey Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). To attain the situation, Prophet Jesus (PBUH) including all the Muslims will give the invitation to accept Islam to all the Christian community all over the world. Then, in the light of Verse no:59 of Chapter:Nisa, under the realm of Prophet Jesus (PBUH), all the Christian community would accept Islam as religion. When the hints of working the Muslim Ummah and Christian community together are found in the holy books, then we the Muslim Ummah and Christian community should work together avoiding all the misunderstandings and to reach solution to maintain the peace all over the world.

Bashar Al-Asad as well as the "Takfiris" in the FSA and amongst other fighters in Syria who have no respect for the lives and blood of unarmed civilians must be disarmed

What began with largely peaceful protests against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in March 2011 has developed into a full-scale civil war.

Assad's regime like the Saudi & GCC Dynasties violently crushes any opposition to family's stranglehold on power.

Assad's forces and Anti-Assad groups are engaged in violent battles across the country.

The ongoing conflict has devastated Syria. The United Nations estimates that as many as 100,000 people have died so far in the conflict. Some 7 million people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance and over 1.9 million refugees have fled the violence to neighboring countries, North Africa and Europe.

Bashar Al-Asad as well as the "Takfiris" in the FSA and amongst other fighters in Syria who have no respect for the lives and blood of unarmed civilians must be disarmed.

We have trust in Hezbollah led by Seyed Hasan Nasrullah who should take the lead and take the lead to bring together wise men of the sincere believers amongst the Peoples of the Books to search and implement solution of the current Syrian conflict.

Hezbollah led by Seyed Hasan Nasrullah is the only sensible force on the ground, should be helped by the world (including USA, Russia, Turkey, Israel and Iran) to establish a sensible political authority in Syria.

We must not forget that Lebanon and Syria are same country divided by Sykes–Picot Anglo-French conspiracy.

Blizzard by free-will.

I am in a painstaking journey,

Both of my legs are in gangrene,

Yet the other day I saw in the twinkle of an eye

When the hot  ray of the sun reflected on my wounds

Seventy thousand servants of Heaven bowed down before me.

This is the mystery, the door and the destination

Of a traveler in the Divine path

Who finishes the self in Divine Love.

So be it ! Let it be my endless song of life,

The endless and continuous surrender

And devotion to His Will !

আল্লাহ এবং তাঁর সমগ্র সৃষ্টি মিলেই হিজবুল্লাহর শান

আল্লাহ এবং তাঁর নিকট সমর্পিত-অনুগত বান্দা মিলেই হিজবুল্লাহর সফর

হিজবুল্লাহর শান

হিজবুল্লাহ কোন দল নয়, কোন সংগঠন নয়,

কিছু লোকের সমবায়ও নয়;

রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্য, সাংস্কৃতিক প্রচারণা, বিত্তবৈভব অর্জন –

কোনটার সাথেই এর কোন সম্পর্ক নেই।

সমগ্র সৃষ্টির প্রতিটি মানুষ,

এমনকি ভাষাহীন বৃক্ষলতা, প্রাণীকূল,

আল্লাহর এক একটি স্মারক চিহ্ন “আয়াতুল্লাহ”।

মহত্তম সৃষ্টি হিসাবে মানুষ তথা সমাজের

প্রতি স্তরের প্রতিটি মানুষই হিজবুল্লাহ।

প্রতিটি মানুষই মূলতঃ  ভাল, মংগলময়

– বিধাতার ঐশী স্ফুলিংগ;

অবস্থাচক্রই তার আত্মার মলীনতার কারণ।

গ্রন্থের পংতিমালায় যা কিছু আছে

তা মানুষেরই আত্মার পরিচয় – আর্তনাদ

নিজ  বাসভূমি আল্লাহর ইশকের চিরকালীন

নিকুঞ্জে ফিরে যাওয়ার আকুতি –

এ মরদেহ মাটিতে মেশার আগেই।

হিজবুল্লাহর সফর

আমি সেই নগ্নপদ ঘোড় সওয়ার

যার দুধারী কৃপাণ কখনো কোষবদ্ধ হয়না,

স্বেদ ও  শোনিতে ঘষে নেয়া যে কৃপাণ

মূহুর্তে বুঝে নেয় মানবতার শত্রু আর মিত্রের ফারাক।

আমি সেই মুসাফির

যে কখনো সতৃষ্ণ কন্ঠ সম্পূর্ণ  ভিজিয়ে নেয়না

পরিপূর্ণ সোরাহীর জলে।

যাকে মঞ্জীল বলে মনে হয়,

যাকে মনে হয় স্নেহ ছায়া নীড়,

সেখানে পৌছে দেখি এখনো অনেক পথ বাঁকী,

এখনো চলতে হবে বহু দূর,

অহল্যার রাজপথে তাই আমার ক্ষীপ্র বিচরণ।

রক্ত বিন্দু ফেটে পড়ে স্বেদ বিন্দু হয়ে,

চোখের সকেটে জমে আছে বিনিদ্র রাতের কালি।

হ্রদয়হীনতায় চলতে গিয়ে আমার দুপায়ে গ্যাংরীন।

তবুও সেই কর্দমাক্ত ক্ষয়ে যাওয়া পদ নখে সেদিন দেখলাম

তপ্ত সূর্যের প্রতিফলনে ঝলসে উঠে যে জ্বালওয়া,

তাতেই মুর্ছা গেল স্বর্গের সত্তুর হাজার হুর পরী গেলমান,

খসে পড়ল তাদের বাজু-বন্ধন,

দীদার প্রার্থী পথিকের সেইতো গোপন রহস্য,

তার দ্বার ও মোকাম।

তথাস্ত। এই হোক মোর জীবনের অরিন্দম গান,

ক্রমাগত আত্মমগ্ন, আত্মসমর্পন।।

খাতুনে জান্নাত ফাতেমা জননী (রাঃ) -জাতীয় কবি মরহুম কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম

খাতুনে-জান্নাত ফাতেমা জননী
বিশ্ব-দুলালী নবী-নন্দিনী।।
মদিনা-বাসিনী পাপ-তাপ-নাশিনী
উম্মত-তারিনী আনন্দিনী।।

সাহারার বুকে মা গো তুমি মেঘমায়া,
তপ্ত মরুর প্রাণে স্নেহ-তরুছায়া;
মুক্তি লভিল মা গো তব শুভ পরশে
বিশ্বের  যত নারী বন্দিনী।।

হাসান হোসেন তব উম্মত তরে, মা গো !
দিলে বলিদান;
বদলাতে তার রোজ হাশরের দিনে
চাহিবে মা মোর মতো পাপীদের ত্রাণ।

এলে পাষাণের বুক চিরে নির্ঝর-সম
করুণার ক্ষীর-ধারা আবে-জমজম;
ফেরদৌস হতে রহমত-বারি ঢালো
সাধ্বী মুসলিম গরবিনী।।

মুবাহালা ও পাক-পাঞ্জাতনঃ হযরত মুহাম্মদ(দঃ), ফাতেমা(রাঃ), হাসান(রাঃ), হোসেন(রাঃ) ও আলী(রাঃ)

পবিত্র ক্বোরাণের ছুরা আল-ইমরাণের ৬১ নং আয়াতে আল্লাহপাক নবী করীম (দঃ) কে হুকুম করেনঃ

فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَلْ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِين

বংগানুবাদঃ
অতঃপর আপনার নিকট সত্য সংবাদ এসে  যাওয়ার পর যদি এই কাহিনী সম্পর্কে আপনার সাথে কেউ বিবাদ করে, তাহলে বলেন, "এসো, আমরা ডেকে নেই আমাদের পুত্রদের এবং তোমাদের পুত্রদের এবং আমাদের স্ত্রীদের এবং তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের এবং আমাদের নিজেদের এবং তোমাদের নিজেদের, আর তারপর চল আমরে সবাই মিলে প্রার্থনা করি এবং তাদের  প্রতি আল্লাহর অভিসম্পাত করে যারা মিথ্যাবাদী।


শানেনযুলঃ
মহানবী(দঃ) নাজরানের খ্রীষ্টানদের কাছে একটি ফরমান প্রেরণ করেন। এতে ধারাবাহিকভাবে তিনটি বিষয় উল্লেখ করা হয়ঃ

(১) ইসলাম কবুল কর,
(২) অথবা জিজিয়া কর দাও,
(৩) অথবা যুদ্ধের জন্য প্রস্তুত হও।

খ্রীষ্টানরা পরস্পর পরামর্শ করে শোরাহবিল,  আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনে শোরাহবিল ও জিবার ইবনে ফয়েজকে হুজুর(দঃ) এর কাছে পাঠায়। তারা এসে ধর্মীয় বিষয়াদি নিয়ে আলোচনা শুরু করে। এক পর্যায়ে তারা হযরত ঈসা (আঃ)-কে উপাস্য প্রতিপন্ন করার জন্য প্রবল বাদানুবাদের আশ্রয় গ্রহন করে। ইতিমধ্যে মুবাহালার উপরোক্ত আয়াত অবতীর্ণ হয়।

মুবাহালার ঘটনাঃ
 মুবাহালার উপরোক্ত আয়াত অবতীর্ণ হলে রসুলে খোদা (সাঃ) উপরোল্লিখিত নাজরানের খ্রীষ্টানদের প্রতিনিধি দলকে মুবাহালার আহ্বান জানান এবং নিজেও ফাতিমা, হযরত আলী এবং ইমাম  হাসান-হোসাইন কে সংগে নিয়ে মুবাহালার জন্য প্রস্তুত হয়ে আসেন। এ দেখে শোরাহবিল ভিত হয়ে যায় এবং সাথীদ্বয়কে বলতে থাকেঃ তোমরা জান যে ইনি আল্লাহর নবী। আল্লাহর নবীর সাথে মুবাহালা করলে আমাদের ধ্বংস অনিবার্য। তাই মুক্তির অন্য কোন পথ খোঁজ। সংগীদ্বয় বললঃ তোমার মতে মুক্তির উপায় কি? সে বললঃ আমার মতে নবীর শর্তানুযায়ী সন্ধী করাই উত্তম উপায়। অতঃপর এতেই খ্রীষ্টান প্রতিনিধিদল সম্মত হয় এবং মহানবী (সাঃ) তাদের ওপর জিযিয়া কর ধার্য করে মিমাংসায় উপনীত হন।-(ইবনে কাসীর, ১ম খন্ড)

 Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini told Mikhail S. Gorbachev, the Soviet leader, in a letter delivered today that Communism was dead and that he should study Islam.

The Teheran radio said the letter, Ayatollah Khomeini's first major message to a foreign leader, had been handed to Mr. Gorbachev by the Iranian leader's personal envoy, Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, who later left Moscow for home.

The radio quoted Ayatollah Khomeini's son and chief aide, Ahmad, as saying the message praised Mr. Gorbachev's boldness in changing the Soviet system.

''It is clear to everyone that Communism should henceforth be sought in world museums of political history,'' Ahmad Khomeini quoted the message as saying. ''Materialism cannot save humanity from the crisis of disbelief in spirituality, which is the basic affliction of human societies in the West and the East.''

The son added, ''Then the honorable Imam asked Mr. Gorbachev to seriously study and research Islam.''
About 50 million Moslems live in the Soviet Union's Asian republics, many of them in areas close to the Iranian border.

Your Excellency Mr. Gorbachev 

Chairman of the Presidium of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

With due wishes for the happiness and prosperity of Your Excellency and the people of the Soviet Union.
Since your assumption of office there has been the impression that Your Excellency, in analyzing world political events, particularly those pertaining to the Soviet Union, have found yourself in a new era of reassessment, change and confrontation; and your boldness and initiative in dealing with the realities of the world is quite likely to bring about changes that would result in upsetting the equations of power dominating the world. I have therefore found it necessary to bring certain matters to your attention.

Even if your new approach and decisions are merely used as a means to overcome the party crisis, and, to solve some of the problems confronting your people, your courage in reappraising a school of thought that has for decades enchained the revolutionary youth of the world behind its iron curtain is indeed worthy of praise. If, however, you are considering taking a further step forward, the first thing that will ensure your success is that you re-evaluate your predecessors' policy of obliterating God and religion from society - a policy that has no doubt given the heaviest blow to the Soviet people. Rest assured that this is the only way whereby world problems can be dealt with realistically.

Of course it is possible that as a result of wrong economic policies of former Communist authorities, the Western world, an illusory heaven, will appear to be fascinating; but the truth lies elsewhere. If you hope, at this Juncture, to cut the economic Gordian knots of socialism and communism by appealing to the center of the Western capitalism, you will, far from remedying any ill of your society, commit a mistake which those to come will have to erase. For, if Marxism has come to a deadlock in its social and economic policies, capitalism has also bogged down, in this as well as in other respects though in a different form.

Mr. Gorbachev,

Reality must be faced. The main problem confronting your country is not one of private ownership, freedom and economy; your problem is the absence of true faith in God, the very problem that has dragged, or will drag, the West to vulgarism and an impasse. Your main problem is the prolonged and futile war you have waged against God, the source of existence and creation.

Mr. Gorbachev,

It is clear to everybody that from now on communism will only have to be found in the museums of world political history, for Marxism cannot meet any of the real needs of mankind. Marxism is a materialistic ideology an materialism cannot bring humanity out of the crisis caused by a lack of belief in spirituality the prime affliction of the human society in the East and the west a like

Mr. Gorbachev,

You may have not in theory turned your back on certain aspects of Marxism - and may continue to profess your heartfelt loyalty to it in interviews - but you know that, in practice, the reality is not so. The leader of suck the first blow to communism and you have struck the second and, apparently, final blow. Today we have no such thing as communism i the world. I earnestly call on you, however, not to get trapped, while tearing down the walls of Marxist illusions, in the prison of the West and the Arch-Satan ope you will attain the honour of wiping the filth of 70 yea of communist aberration from the face of history and of your country. Today those allies of yours that are genuinely concerned about their homelands an~ people are no longer willing to sacrifice their subterranean and surface resources to keep alive the myth of the success of communism, an ideology whose din of collapse has already reached the ears of their children.

Mr. Gorbachev,

When after 70 years the call, “Allah is Great” and the testimony to the prophet-hood of the seal of the prophets, Mohammad (peace be upon him an his posterity), were heard from the minarets of the mosques in some of you Republics, all the followers of the pure Mohammadan Islam were moved t tears out of ecstasy.

Therefore, I have found it necessary to remind you to reflect once again on the materialistic and theistic world views. Materialists consider sense to be the sole criterion of knowledge and are of the opinion
that whatever cannot be known through the senses falls outside the realm of knowledge. They identify existence with matter and consider as nonexistent anything that has no material body. Inevitably, they regard the world of the unseen-God Almighty, Divine Revelation, Prophet-hood and the Resurrection-as mere fiction. On the other hand, theists consider both sense and reason to be the criteria of knowledge, and maintain that whatever can be known through reason lies within the realm of knowledge, although it is not perceptible. To theists therefore, existence is inclusive of both the unseen and the manifest. For a thing to exist it is not necessary to have a material body. In the same way that a material thing depends on an incorporeal thing ⁽⁵⁾., sensory perception is dependent of rational perception⁽⁶⁾.

The Holy Qur'an reprobates the fundamentals of materialistic thought and, addressing those who say: “We shall never believe in thee until we see God manifestly” ⁽⁷⁾., proclaims: “Vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends all vision; and He is the knower of subtleties, the Aware⁽⁸⁾.. I should not like to present here Qur'anic arguments concerning Divine Revelation, Prophethood and the Resurrection which from your point of view are debatable. In fact I do not wish to entangle you in the twists and turns of philosophical arguments, particularly those of Islamic philosophy. I will content myself by presenting one or two simple, intuitive examples of which even politicians can avail themselves.


It is self-evident that matter, whatever its nature, has no awareness of self. Consider a stone statue: each side is ignorant of the other side, whereas human beings and animals, we clearly observe, are aware of their Surroundings. They know where they are, and have some idea of what goes on around them. There must be, then, an element in men and animals that transcends matter and is separate from it, living beyond the life of matter. Intrinsically, man seeks to attain absolute perfection. He strives, as you well know, for absolute power over the world; he is not attached to any power that is defective. If he has the entire world at his command, he naturally feels inclined to have command of another world once he is informed of its existence. No matter how learned a person may be, if he learns of some other branch of knowledge, he naturally feels inclined to attain mastery of that branch of knowledge also. Therefore, there must be some Absolute Power and Absolute Knowledge to which man is attached. It is God we all seek, although we may not be aware of it. Man strives to attain Absolute Truth, so that he may be annihilated in God. Basically, the desire for eternal life that is inherent in every individual is proof of the existence of an Eternal World to which destruction cannot find its way.

Should Your Excellency desire further information on these matters, you may command those scholars of yours who are well-versed in this field to study, in addition to the works of Western philosophers, the writings of Peripatetic⁽⁹⁾. philosophers al-Farabi ⁽¹⁰⁾. and Aviceena” ⁽¹¹⁾. -Peace be upon them. It will then become clear that the law of causation on which all knowledge depends is a rational, not sensible law. Likewise, perception of general laws and concepts on which all reasoning rests is reached not by means of sensory experience but through rational argument ⁽¹²⁾. Your scholars may further refer to the Ishraqi⁽¹³⁾. theosophy of Suhrawardi ⁽¹⁴⁾, and explain to you that the flesh as well as any other material thing, is in need of Pure Light which has n material entity, that man's witnessing of his own truth does not take place b means of any sense organ⁽¹⁵⁾. You may also have the scholars familiarize themselves with Transcendental philosophy ⁽¹⁶⁾ of Mulla Sadra ⁽¹⁷⁾ (may Allah b~ pleased with him and resurrect him with the prophets and the pious), so that it may become clear that the nature of knowledge is different from the nature of matter and that intellect, far removed from matter, cannot be restricted b the laws governing matter.

I won't tire you further by mentioning the works of mystics, in particular Muhyid-Din ibn-e-Arabi ⁽¹⁸⁾. If you wish to make yourself acquainted with the doctrines of this celebrated mystic, send a number of your brilliant scholar who are well-versed in this field, to Qum ⁽¹⁹⁾ so that, by reliance on God, th may, after a couple of years, glimpse the depth of the delicate stages o gnosis ⁽²⁰⁾ which, will be impossible for them to acquire without making such journey.

Mr. Gorbachev,

After mentioning these problems and preliminary points, let me call 0 you to study Islam earnestly, nrt because Islam and Muslims may need yo. but because Islam has exalted universal values which can bring comfort an salvation to all nations and remove the basic problems of mankind. A true understanding of Islam may forever release you from the problem Afghanistan⁽²¹⁾. and other similar involvements. We treat Muslims of the word as Muslims of our own country and will ever share in their destiny.

By granting certain liberties to some of your Republics in matter pertaining to religious practices, you have shown that you no longer consider religion as the “opium of the people” ⁽²²⁾.. Indeed, how can Islam be the opium of the people, the religion that has made Iranians as firm as a mountains against superpowers? Is the religion that seeks the administration of justice in the world and man's freedom from material and spiritual shackles, the opium of the people? Only that religion is the opium of the people that causes the material and spiritual resources of Islamic and non-Islamic countries to pass into the clutches of super-and lesser powers and that preaches that religion is separate from politics. This, however, can not be called a true religion; it is what our people call “an American religion”.

In conclusion, I declare outright that the Islamic Republic of Iran as the greatest and most powerful base of the Islamic world, can easily fill the vacuum of religious faith in your society. In any case, our country, as in the past, honours good neighbourhood and bilateral relations.

During reading the message and translating it that took 65 minutes, translators wrote down some points and Gorbachev also took some notes himself.

Then the Kremlin’s special interpreters translate it for Mr. Gorbachev, the Soviet leader, and two other people that attended the meeting. If a point was not lucid for the interpreter, he asked and after understanding the point translated it to Gorbachev. During reading the message and translating it that took 65 minutes, translators wrote down some points and Gorbachev also took some notes himself.

 

The Iranian Delegation left Tehran for Moscow on January 3rd, 1988 (13 Day 1367) and returned to Tehran the day after. They stayed in Moscow for 23 hours and were given a warm welcome by prominent Russian officials and Moscow Friday pray leader.

Before the official meeting of delegation with the former Soviet leader, no contact was made with the head of the delegation, because the trip was just for submitting the message and clarifying its deep content. From the airport to Moscow, the dialogues were replete of delineation about monotheism and rejection of paganism that delegation expressed and faced with an encomium of those who came to the airport.

On January 7 ,1989 an Iranian delegation met with Mikhail Gorbachev in Kremlin Palace at 11 a.m , that took two and five minutes. When we arrived at Kremlin the Chairman of the board and were welcomed by the two prominent officials who had visited us before, showing great enthusiasm for hearing Imam Khomeini’s (RA) message.

Considering the issue of mutual respect that is one the international rules of Islam and does not belong to any specific group, the delegation was determined to transfer the message with the language of guidance and education.

The message was read with delineating some important points. Then the Kremlin’s special interpreters translate it for Mr. Gorbachev and two other people that attended the meeting. If a point was not lucid for the interpreter, he asked and after understanding the point translated it to Gorbachev. During reading the message and translating it that took ۶۵ minutes, translators wrote down some points and Gorbachev also took some notes himself.

The Soviet leader listened to the message politely because the content and its literature was at apex of guiding to monotheism and the style of it was deductive.

Issuing the letter was after the UN Security Council Resolution 598 and Iran entered to the stage of post-war reconstruction process. The content of the letter was completely secret and except Imam Khomeini (RA) none of the Iranian authorities knew about it, so the Russian officials did not even imagine that the content of the letter was invitation to monotheism and Islam.

After listening to the major points of the letter, all the bias anticipation about the content turned wrong and no one could give a suitable quick answer to this holy letter.

Listening carefully to the letter and understanding the intentions of Imam, the former Soviet leader started to answer the invitation that took him one hour.

A summary of Gorbachev's answer after reading Imam's letter was is as follows:

“I 'm thankful of Ayatollah Khomeini's letter, I'll send an answer to this letter as soon as possible, we'll announce it Soviet's clergymen, we are on the way of approbating religion freedom in Soviet, I have claimed before that despite having different ideologies we can have peaceful relationship. A few months after sending this letter, the USSR collapsed and people were free to choose religion.”

“Imam Khomeini invited us to Islam; do we have to invite him to our school of thought? Gorbachev smiled and went on,” this is a jock. This invitation is an interference in the internal issue of a country. Cause every country is free for selecting its school of thought.”

Iran delegation studied the response of Gorbachev to the letter and got that the country react politically to the letter not culturally and educationally. Gorbachev considered the letter as interference to the national issues of the country. So the issue of sending the letter was under the question, so the delegation did not discuss the content of the letter. Head of the delegation said,” Thanks for listening the letter and we appreciate your readiness for answering the letter and announcing it Soviet's clergymen.”

He underlined, “we appreciate the freedom of religion and hope an amicable condition for all people to live with each other as they have different schools of thought. But the issue of interfering should be clarified. You are free in Russia to do what you want and no one has right to interfere in this realm. The content of the letter did nothing with materialism and the territory of Russia; it was just related to your souls.
